This release brings new creative possibilities, with the addition of new shaders, an OSC API and MIDI out compatibility, among other cool things. In terms of tech stuff, this release adds support for Intel graphics cards on Windows!

This is a patch release, most notably fixing crashes when duplicating sequences and the reload of Controls assignments on cues. You can also enable hardware acceleration for video decoding for better performances. If your license gives you access to 2.10.0, you’ll have access to this release too.

Released on October 19th 2022

This version of HeavyM brings new features and improvements to several aspects of the software. The map management has been improved, the display settings are easier to use, the sequencer is more precise and finally, new visual effects settings are possible!

This is a patch release, most notably fixing possible crashes and a UI bug affecting shader settings. If your license gives you access to 2.8.0, you’ll have access to this release too.

HeavyM 2.8.0

Released on July 14th 2022

This release brings awaited features: audio tracks on sequences, mastering opacity, shaders on groups and a slice selector for players. A new project saving system also makes file management and transfer easier. Other novelties, various fixes and improvements are in store.

HeavyM 2.7.1

Released on April 12th 2022

This release is a patch update. It fixes an undo/redo bug on drawing in v2.7.0 and brings a few other maintenance corrections.

HeavyM 2.7.0

Released on March 23rd 2022

This release brings a few awaited features: video export and a “copy group effects” option. Some additions also make selecting shapes in the canvas easier. And 20 new shaders is introduced! Other novelties, various fixes and improvements are in store.

HeavyM 2.6.1

Released on January 12th 2022

This release adds many possibilities to Controls, including new settings for MIDI, OSC and Keyboard as well as DMX input via Art-Net. Graphics possibilities are also enhanced with the inclusion of Blend Modes on groups! As usual, various fixes and improvements are in store.

This release is a maintenance update. It fixes several crashs reported by the users, notably when loading a project.

This release is a maintenance update. It brings minor feature improvements but fixes several stability issues reported by the users. 

HeavyM 2.5.0

Released on November 17th 2021

This release brings a complete overhaul of the Output setup module, adding multiple output management, edge blending and warping features. Various fixes and improvements are also included.

HeavyM 2.4.0

Released on September 22nd 2021

HeavyM 2.4 introduces Gradients! This release also brings many new features and improvements, like easier resize and rotate tools and an in-app tutorial. As per usual, there are also various bug fixes.

HeavyM 2.3

Custom Centers for effects are back, with some nice bonuses! We’ve reworked its design and usability. Centers can be controlled by OSC, MIDI and even be animated directly into HeavyM.

HeavyM 2.2

Released on June 24th 2021

OSC is back in HeavyM 2.2.0! This release also introduces NDI and the unlimited output resolution for the Pro offer, as well as various bug fixes and improvements.

HeavyM 2.1.2

Released on May 26th 2021

This is the first fix for various bugs reported by the community after the release of HeavyM 2. This update also greatly improves the performance and stability of the software.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a crash that occurred when unplugging the selected MIDI device
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when opening an output window with the Cursor tool turned ON
  • Fixed various stability issues on undo/redo and Magnet mode
  • Fixed copy/paste behaviour when pasting shapes from different groups
  • Fixed a bug causing the value indicators of sliders to be hidden
  • Fixed a bug that would stop media playback when undoing a sequence deletion
  • Fixed a blink when restarting a paused media
  • Fixed various Random Color weights and speed issues
  • Fixed sequences appearance on project reload

Improvements

  • Reduced project load duration
  • Reduced GPU and CPU usage
  • Cursor preferences (color, thickness and opacity) are now saved in software settings
  • When a tangent handle is selected, adjacent handles are shown

Know issues

  • A crash can happen on MacOS Catalina if a screen is plugged/unplugged while an output window is already open – Please update to Big Sur if possible!
    • HeavyM 2 is not compatible with some integrated graphics cards – Please check the minimum requirements on the website.
