Full release notes

New features

  • Added 3D Texture properties to shapes. Choose a texture from the built-in library of 60 lifelike materials and apply it to any face or player! Learn all about it here. (2.14.1)
  • New Sources panel features: (2.14.1)
    • Added the possibility to choose between 3 thumbnail sizes in Grid view
    • Added the possibility to switch between Grid or List view
    • Added the possibility to create folders to organize Sources
    • Learn more here!
  • Added 50 new built-in shaders: 18 Generative & 32 Post-processing (2.14.1)
  • Added a “Displacement” parameter to the Light Source shader. This affects the rendering of a 3D Texture, giving an impression of height to its bumps and dents. This reflects on effects, which now seem affected by the asperities of the material instead of simply being blended with it, giving materials a more physically realistic aspect. (2.14.2)

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the the display of the Group Effects panel when the Sources panel is extended  (2.14.1)
  • Fixed the display of the Sources panel when it is extended and the interface is not in fullscreen (2.14.1)
  • Fixed a rare crash linked to audio on the Timeline (2.14.1)
  • Fixed various crashes that occurred when HeavyM closes (2.14.1)

  • Fixed a case of incorrect rendering with materials and transparency shapes (2.14.2)
  • Fixed a bug that would add a material to a shape anyway when exiting the Materials Library without validating (2.14.2)
  • Fixed a bug on the input of the Master Opacity value (2.14.2)
  • Fixed various lingering Output issues that could occur on macOS 15+ versions (grey frame, incorrect fullscreen, incoherent behavior with “displays have separate spaces” macOS setting) (2.14.3)
  • In the case of highDPI/retina output displays, HeavyM now includes two possible Destinations: the full resolution and the half resolution. (2.14.3)
  • Fixed various potential startup issues on macOS (2.14.3)
  • Fixed a potential issue that could cause HeavyM to crash randomly after some time (2.14.3)

  • Fixed stability issues in short-lived version 2.14.4 (2.14.5)

Improvements

  • The state (open/closed) of Sequencer modules is now saved as a global setting. The same state will be applied on all sessions on the same computer. (2.14.2)
  • Inverted the direction of the Y-axis parameter in the Light Source shader so that it’s harmonized with the rest of the software (2.14.2)

  • Added the possibility to refresh your license manually from the software, in case you have made changes to it. This guarantees changes are taken into account right away. (2.14.5)
  • Magnet snap now works directly when drag & dropping a new shape from the toolbar on the canvas. (2.14.5)
  • Shader thumbnails now accept the following file formats: .gif, .png, .jpg, .jpeg. (2.14.5)
